Austrian Airlines to Increase Flights to Bangkok, Thailand

 Austrian Airlines has unveiled plans to
increase the number of flights it operates to Bangkok, Thailand.

The airline has been operating flights between
Vienna and Bangkok since 1988 and currently offers travellers a
choice of 7 flights per week, which is expected to increase to 13
in the upcoming 2024/25 winter schedule.

Austrian Airlines will reach a significant
milestone in 2024, with the addition of two Boeing 787-9 aircraft
to its fleet.

The aircraft will enable the airline to increase
flights and capacity to a number of popular destinations,
including Bangkok, Boston, Montreal, Maldives and New York.

“Last year we introduced the A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, on flights from Bangkok
to Munich and this latest news from Austrian Airlines reflects our
strong commitment to the Thai market,” said Brendan Shashoua, Lufthansa Group
Senior Director Sales – Southeast Asia and the Pacific. “Thanks to this investment,
Thai passengers now have more choice and more options when
choosing to travel to Europe with Lufthansa Group.”

Austrian Airlines, a
member of both Star Alliance and Lufthansa Group,
currently has a fleet 66 aircraft, including 9 long-haul and
57 short and medium-haul aircraft.

network to be able to offer our guests a broad portfolio of
destinations,” said Michael Trestl, CCO of Austrian Airlines.
“This approach aims to return to pre-crisis levels in
intercontinental services and provide attractive connections
worldwide.”
